It seems that everyone has a "get rich now" scheme up their sleeves these days. Although they all sound nice, and some fake very lavish lives on social media just to get attention, most of them are still sitting in a small living room trying to make a few bucks. However, it does make you think. Is there a way to make money, without actually working so hard? I mean, since when did living turn into simply working?

If this is something you have thought about in the past, you are not alone. However, even those who live more than they work, have to put in a ton of work at first. What people do not want to tell you, is that what they are living off of is passive income.

Now, marketing online is a new thing. Obviously, there is a lot of money in online marketing. However, one must always be aware of what they are getting themselves into. When it comes to MLMs, this is where you get yourself into trouble. These are companies that sign you up, having you think that you will make a ton of sales and sign up tons of people under you, and eventually you will have a network of people actually working under you and making you money, without you actually having to do anything.

But, what if you weren't trying to work for another company.  Not everyone is a salesperson, and some people are not a fan of working for another large company or new trend. So what do you do?

Is there a way to earn passive income on your own?

The answer is yes, although finding the perfect passive income is sometimes difficult. However, if you have a passion or skill you want to use as a means to support yourself, than you are already on the first step to starting your own passive income. Passive income is basically when you earn money off of something with little or no effort. Although it takes work to make whatever you plan on selling, usually once it is made you simply make money off getting people to buy it. This is easily done through online marketing, because so many people shop online these days.

If you think you can simply quit your job and sign up for a passive income, well you are sorely mistaken. At first, it takes hard work. Setting up your product, building a website or means to sell it, and obviously marketing it enough to the point that it starts to market itself. If you are willing to put in some hard work at first, over time your passive income will start to roll in. Although this is not the only way to earn a passive income, you can also start a passive income by investing your money in the right ways. That way, all you have to do is watch your money multiply over time. Where does one go, to invest in such a lovely concept? One thing to  remember is, these also take time, and you will have to wait to receive this passive income.

So, were should you start? Well, below are a list of some passive income ideas that you can use to get you started. Simply take one of these ideas, or use them to build your own idea up for your own unique passive income. The biggest step to starting a passive income, is understanding the concept and retraining how your brain thinks it has to work to make money.

When you think of a savings account, most people think of what little you actually earn in interest over time. Although lending club has a little more risk, the income it brings in is a lot more than just a simple savings. At the Lending club, people are looking for investments to get started in various business adventures. When you invest in their ideas, you get your money back, plus interest. The risk of course comes if their idea fails, but if you took a small amount of money ($20) and invested it into, say 5 or 6 ideas, you would have more of a chance when it comes to making money, opposed to losing it.

E*trade is a great place to look into index funds. Basically, it is like investing in the stock market, without having to worry about when to pull your money out, trade, sell, etc.

Gigs

Making money for things you already do, is always a quick and easy way to earn some passive income. They have programs such as shopkick and ebates, which allow you to make money back on purchases as you shop. Or, checkout lyft as a great extra income if you are always on the go! If you are busy doing certain things, there is a way to make a little passive income while you do it.

Photos

Photos are a great way to make passive income, especially if you are out and about taking photos often. They have stock photography websites now, such as shutterstock and istockphoto, where you simply upload photos of anything you can think of, and then wait until people start buying your photos! Although this is one that can take some time, it is not hard to snap a few photos as you go throughout your day.

Books

e-books are a new trend that will only get more and more popular over the years. If you have an author in you waiting to get out, now is the time to do just that. You can now self publish your own e-books, and the more your market them, the more popular they will get over time. Before you know it, you will have people interested and buying your book daily.

Real Estate

Although this is a larger investment, and you do have to understand what is going on in the market, it is not a difficult investment to make. Over the past few years, house flipping has become a huge trend. Although, that is not the only way to make money off of your real estates. A lot of people buy real estate and then rent it out monthly for a steady passive income.

Set up a website to sell a product

This is one that takes a little extra time and effort, but considering how huge the web is getting these days, it is definitely something to consider. Setting up a website with a product that sells itself, so that no marketing or product touching actually has to be done, is by far one of the biggest dream passive incomes there is. And, they are realistic, although most people don't understand exactly how much work has to go into it.

Make an online course or new app

The world is now virtual, which means that new passive incomes are all around us. One of the biggest ways to make it rich is simple, creating an app that catches the attentions of everyone, or making an online course that teaches something everyone wants to learn. Both are simple, and even those who do not know about coding can easily learn how to make an app.
